Rajiv is a veteran of the telecommunications industry with over twenty four years of experience in all aspects of telecommunications, ranging from design and commercialization of network equipment, to management of a telecom service provider. With his extraordinarily rich telecom background, he brings a wealth of leadership experience and industry insights to the company.
Most recently, Rajiv was an Advisor to the Telecom Policy Review Panel launched by Industry Canada to make recommendations on Canadian Telecom Policy for the next decade.
Prior to this appointment, he was the President and CEO of Mitec Telecom Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of wireless network products, where he successfully turned around an ailing business.
His previous assignments include President and Chief Operating Officer of Canada's fourth largest national wireless operator, Microcell Connexions Inc. During his tenure, Rajiv presided over Microcell becoming the first Canadian carrier to nationally launch commercial high speed wireless data services, including a collaborative project with Research In Motion to develop a voice/data version of the Blackberry based on the GSM/GPRS standard. Prior to joining Microcell in 1999, Rajiv held a number of senior management positions of increasing responsibility with Nortel Networks. In his last role with Nortel, Rajiv was Vice-President and General Manager of the Open Speech group, responsible for speech recognition and IVR products.
Rajiv is an active member of the GSM Association, Montreal Board of Trade, and an industry advisor to several venture capital funds in the United States and Canada. He was the founding president of the Ottawa-Montreal chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE), and on the board of directors of several technology companies in Ottawa, Montreal, and California.
Rajiv holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from McGill University and a Masters of Science in Applied Physics and Electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology.

PAUL SMELTERS General Partner, VenGrowth Capital Partners
Paul recently joined VenGrowth in 2005. He has more than 25 years
in advanced technology design, R&D management, and product/business
management, with working experience in semiconductors, voice
gateways, switching/routing products, and wireless networks.
Paul serves as an active member on the board of directors for
several VenGrowth investee companies, including Spotwave Wireless
Canada Inc., Galazar Networks Inc., Potentia, Semiconductor Inc.,
Kleer Semiconductor Corporation, and Critical Telecom Corp.
Before joining VenGrowth, Paul was with Nortel Networks/BNR for
25 years, working in areas such as research and development,
business management, product lifecycle management, and marketing.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science (B.A.Sc. Electrical Engineering)
from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Business
Administration (MBA) from Queen's University. Outside of the office,
Paul enjoys playing golf and hockey and spending time with his
family.

Karl is a professional engineer with 11 years of corporate finance experience including 5 years in venture capital. He has held the position of Vice President of BDC's Virtual Banking unit and prior to that he was Vice President responsible for the Bank's lending and consulting practice in Vancouver.
Before joining BDC in 1992, Karl held positions in engineering, technical sales and marketing with Esso Petroleum Canada followed by a period as Vice President of an international trading company in Montreal. He brings with him diverse operational experience in a number of industries. His experience includes engineering, project management, turnarounds, corporate boards, strategic alliances, sales and marketing.
Karl holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick as well as an MBA with a major in Finance from Concordia in Montréal.

ALI SHADMAN General Partner, JK&B Capital
Mr. Shadman has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. During the 13 years prior to joining JK&B, Mr. Shadman was with Ameritech with a variety of responsibilities. Immediately prior to joining JK&B, Mr. Shadman was the President of Ameritech New Media, which provided competitive broadband cable services to over 250,000 subscribers. Mr. Shadman was also Ameritech's designee on the board of Americast, a joint venture between Ameritech, Walt Disney, GTE, Bell South, and SNET. Prior to that, Mr. Shadman was the Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Ameritech responsible for developing long-term business strategies. In this capacity, Mr. Shadman led the negotiations for the merger between Ameritech and SBC. Prior to that, Mr. Shadman was the Vice President of Operations and Business Development where he had full technical, operational and budgeting responsibility for implementing the technical infrastructure for delivery of broadband consumer products. Prior to that, Mr. Shadman was the General Manager of Network Services and Technology Planning, Assistant Vice President Network Platforms, and Executive Director of Data Networking.
Before joining Ameritech, Mr. Shadman was with MCI Telecommunications where he was the Director of Technology Development and with INTELSAT where he was a member of the technical staff.
Mr. Shadman earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an M.S.E.E. and a B.S.E.E. from Oregon State University. Mr. Shadman is on the Board of Directors of Atrica, Ivivity, Lenslet Labs, Seaway Networks, and Sheer Networks and participates with the Board of Directors of Aperto Networks and Nanochip.
